Not really. This custom is dwindling among people, and individuals are eager to have and see their visitors and friends, mostly outside. If this custom and tradition were common among people, we could see people socializing at home activities, but vice versa is correct.
I think it depends on the individual or the kind of relationship you have with the person you're visiting and the person being visited. Some individuals like having their space to themselves, while others enjoy being visited because it makes them feel peaceful and they love to do many things when they are with someone.
