Does technology make it easier to communicate with your family and friends?

For me, technology makes it easier to communicate with my family and my friends because when I go far, I can call video or chatting with my friends and with my family. It helps me boost my relationship with them. However, technology brings parts of drawbacks such as restrict communicate in real life.
