These days, celebrities can be divided into two major groups. The first group includes role models who have a negative influence because of their irresponsible behaviors and unhealthy lifestyles, like bloggers. In contrast, the second group consists of positive role models who encourage their fans to engage in constructive activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.
I think a lot of Japanese are crazy about celebrities, especially recently Korean artists. We try to go to South Korea to see the famous places the celebrities visited. We also try to buy the products that celebrities promote or are using now.
The celebrity industry in Ukraine has developed only over the last 10 years, but nowadays, celebrities mostly influence their fans through social media, showcasing their lifestyle, offering advice, and discussing skin care and social life, as fans tend to copy their idols.
Frankly, I feel celebrities influence their fans in a significant number of ways. For instance, the walking culture, who to vote for, public offices, what to wear, and what to buy. It's almost like you don't have a mind of your own. That's the reason I believe celebrities influence their culture.
Teenagers in my country look up to idols and mimic their behaviors. If celebrities behave well, such as engaging in cleanup campaigns or helping the elderly, they set a good example for teenagers. However, if they promote harmful substances like alcohol or drugs, they will influence teenagers and children in a negative way.
