In what ways do you think non-profit foundations differ from commercial organisations?

Generally speaking, I recognize that these kinds of organizations are completely different from each other. Firstly, non-profit foundations mainly tend to help people, and their motivation is primarily moral and based on obligation. On the other hand, commercial organizations typically run a business to earn money. So, I think that they are completely different.
