Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing to formally request some time off work in order to complete my qualification. I am currently in the final stages of my Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Manchester, and my final exams and thesis submission are fast approaching.
I would like to request two weeks’ leave, from Monday, 10th March, to Friday, 21st March 2025, to prepare adequately for my final examinations. This period will allow me to focus exclusively on my studies and successfully complete my degree.
To ensure minimal disruption during my absence, I have already spoken with a colleague, Jane Doe, who has agreed to cover my primary responsibilities. I will also complete all my urgent tasks before my leave begins and will be available via email for any emergency queries, should they arise.
Completing this qualification will undoubtedly benefit the company in the long run. The research conducted for my thesis on financial analytics will enhance my expertise, which I can then apply to our upcoming projects, potentially reducing external consultancy costs.
Thank you for your time and consideration of my request. I look forward to hearing from you soon regarding this matter.
Yours sincerely,
john smith
