A bar chart gives information about the male and female drivers of Great Britain who had driving licenses and another bar chart illustrates the percentage of males and females who applied for driving licences between 17-20 years old .
Overall, it is clear that both genders who had driving licenses had a gradual increase during the whole period , while the percentage of young drivers vice versa had a considerable fall .
At the beginning of the period the share of men with driving license remained stable 70% respectively, while female drivers had a steady growth from 30% to 60% during the whole period . As for the end of the period , male drivers reached 80 % , although women got only 60 % in total .
As for young drivers between 18-20 years old , there was a slight decrease for men from 50 % in 1996 to 45 % in 2006. In terms of female drivers , otherwise there was a significant drop from 30 % to 20 % respectively.
