Overall, it is obvious that Youtube and Facebook were the most popular platforms. However, Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp were less preferred apps at the beginning of the period.
In 2018, the majority of Australians, approximately 1.3 billion people used Youtube, which was close to the second most successful app, Facebook. Over the following years, Youtube usage saw a gradual rise, whereas Facebook started to lose its popularity and fall steadily under 10 million users. By 2020, Youtube had reached a peak by around 16.5 million users.
The other three types of social media, by namely Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp weren’t people’s preference as the others. In the year 2018, the brands were in a similar amount by 4 million people.
