The bar chart illustrates the numbers of citizens in the UK who consumed five portions of fruit and vegetables between 2001 and 2008.
Overall, we can observe that the five portions of fruit and vegetables ate more by women each year making them the highest consumer over the time, while for children they consumed the least. Additionally, all categories have recorded a noticeable growth until the end of the period.
In 2001 women started at just over 20 percent. Their consumption then rose sharply to reach a peak of more than 30 percent in 2006 before falling gradually to exactly 30 percent in the final year.
In contrast, men and children showed relatively stagnant data for three consecutive years from 2001 to 2003. Both figures then experienced dramatical growth from 2004 until it reached a peak of more than 25 percent for men in 2006 and more than 20 percent for children in 2007. By 2008 both groups saw slight decline in consumption.
