Changes in CO₂ Emissions in North America, Europe, China, and India from 1990 to 2020
The line graph illustrates the changes of CO₂ Emissions in four different countries between 1990 and 2020.
Overall, focusing on the increases first, in North America and Europe, there was a significant rise. While countries like China and India experienced little changes.
In the initial year in North America, the percentage of CO₂ Emissions accounted for approximately 50%, then in 2005, this country faced a slow decrease. However, the trend started to grow in the next four years.
In 1990 the proportion of emissions made up 20%, in 2005 the trend saw a slight rise in the following years then reached a peak of approximately 50%.Whereas, both countries: China and India there were not many changes. In India, in 1990 the trend showed nearly 0.98% but in 2020 grew and accounted at around 1.5%. In China there were no significant changes.
