Overall, the highest number of people prefer using mobile phones over landlines except in America and China. Meanwhile, communicating through landlines is minimal in Japan compared to other countries depicted in the graph.
Looking at the details, the people in Turkey, Japan, Sweden, and Russia do not use as many landlines as mobile phones. Furthermore, twice the proportion of citizens use mobile phones than landlines in Japan, 85% and 32% respectively. The usage of both communication modes is relatively equal in Russia, at a bit difference of 5.5%.
At the same time, mobile phones are nowhere near as popular as landlines in America. The Americans’ preference for mobile phones is 30%, as opposed to the preference for landlines which is nearly double of that. Using landlines in China accounted to approximately 69%, whereas the usage of mobile phones are less than that, in particular 48%.
