The bar chart reveals information about the amount of outside investment in India and China between 2014 and 2019.
Overall, the foreign direct investment reduced in China, while fluctuated in India throughout the time period. Although, the amount of investment in China exceeded India.
In 2014, China had expenditure of just below 80 billion dollar, then it decreased to around 60 billion , 2015 and 2016. After that, there was a reduction to about 45 billion dollar in 2017 before a magnificent surge in expenditure to more than 100 billion dollar in 2018. Finally, it diminished in 2019 to just above 40 billion dollar .
The outside direct investment in India reached more than 20 billion dollar in 2014, then rose to nearly 60 billion dollar in 2015 and 2016 before falling back to 2014 levels in 2017. In 2018 there was another significant increase to just below 60 billion dollar before returning to around 20 billion dollar in 2019. 2015 was the only year India’s levels of foreign investment exceeded China, with values of slightly above 60 billion dollar and slightly below 60 billion dollar , respectively.
