Dear Mr. Bouchard,

I am writing to request an extension for the lease of the apartment I have been renting from you for the past five months. My current 6-month lease is set to expire within a month, and I would like to renew it for another six month, as my circumstances has changed.

When I initially came to Montreal, I wasn’t sure that I will be staying, as I was on a 6-month trial period within the research and development department at the company I am currently working for. Yesterday, I have been thrilled to receive that the company was satisfied with my work and that my contract have been extended for another six months. Therefore, I would like to extend my lease for that period of time. I love the apartment; it’s cozy and close to work.

Although, there is one minor issue, that I would highly appreciate you assistance with. As the winter is ahead and it start getting chilly, I realized that the heater is not working properly and it releases an unpleasant smell. Would you kindly take a look on it. I Have been told that the winter is extremely cold over here, and if I am going to be staying, I would need the heater to be working properly.
