Overall, men tended to buy technology- related and entertaiment gadgets more than women. In contrast, women showed a stronger preference for security-related devices.The highest figure was for women buying security cameras, while the lowest was women purchasing outdoor speaker systems.
In terms of female consumers, security and home-use gadgets werư generally more popular. Around 90% of women bought security cameras, which was significantly higher than the figure for men. Women also purchased programmable thermostats at a higher rate at approximately 60%, compared with about 40% for males. In addition, female consumers slightly outnumbered male consumers in buying wireless home audio systems and programmable vacuum cleaners.
When it comes to male buyers, higher proportions were recorded for entertainment and system-based devices. Male consumers were much more likely to buy wireless home entertaiment systems, reaching nearly 80% which was higher than women. In addition, purchases of home theater systems and outdoor speaker systems were also dominated by men. Moreover, male consumers also showed higher figures for energy management systems.
