The bar chart compares data on the number of jobs in various industries related to tourism in a UK region over a period of twenty years, from 1989 to 2009.
As can be seen, the number of jobs in restaurants and hotels tended to increase over the period; however, other tourism-related industries, such as sport and leisure, travel and tours went down.
It experienced a quantity of jobs in the restaurant and hotel industries that were approximately 1100 in 1989, and it reached its peak in 2004 (1600).
Additionally, the sport and leisure industries had 800 jobs at the beginning of the period, before plateauing, so by 2009, they had bottomed out at roughly 700 jobs.
Finally, the other industry in our bar chart, which is called travel and tours, had nearly 780 jobs and slightly less than the sport and leisure industries in 1989, and hit the highest point of 820 jobs in 1994. Then the quantity dramatically decreased to 400 in 2009.
