As it can seen the number of applicants in three countries (Japan, the USA, Russia) experienced an increase, while China showed the reverse trajectory. Throughout the period Japan showed the highest rate, but China demonstrated the lowest figure.
Focussing on the three countries, Japan, the USA and Russia, the proportion of candidates underwent a tangible increase in Japan and the USA, from nearly 13000 to around 27000 and from about 6000 to 10000 respectively till the end of the period. Thereafter, Russia started the interval with approximately 2500. Until 2008, it witnessed a fluctuation and finished the period with roughly 27000.
On the other hand, the figure of applicants in China started the period with the highest trend, amounting to around 27000 accordingly. Yet, until 2006, it declined to just under 18000. By 2007, it showed a stable point, before decreasing again and ending the period with the downward point to 15000.
