The bar chart compares the number of monthly active users, measured in millions, across fifteen major social networking platforms in February 2025.
Overall, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp were by far the most widely used services, each attracting around 3 billion users, while platforms such as Pinterest, X, and QQ had significantly smaller user bases. Another clear trend is the dominance of US-based and Chinese platforms, with only a few services falling outside these two regions.
In terms of the most popular networks, Facebook topped the list at 3,070 million users, closely followed by Instagram and WhatsApp, both at 3,000 million. YouTube also had a substantial audience of roughly 2.6 billion users, while TikTok’s figure stood at just under 2 billion.
By contrast, WeChat (1,410 million) and Telegram (1,000 million) had noticeably smaller but still considerable audiences. Messenger, Snapchat and Reddit ranged between 930 and 760 million users. Meanwhile, Douyin and Kuaishou recorded around 720 million each. The least popular platforms were Weibo (588 million), Pinterest (578 million), X (557 million) and QQ (532 million).
