The data below displays the switch in possession of electrical devices and expenditure of time performing household chores in a country from 1920 to 2019.
Overall, in the first paragraph, it can be seen that the use of refrigerator and vacuum cleaner increased exponentially by the end of 2019 but the application of washing machine only stepped up slightly by 2019. Coming to the second graph, people working in their house has decreased significantly in a time period of almost a century.
Looking at the information in more detail, almost none of the houses had refrigerator in 1920, which skyrocketed and reached to a 100 percent in 2019. Similarly, about 30 percent of households used vacuum cleaner in 1920, where it peaked to a 100 percent by the year 2000 and remained constant from there until 2019. Coming towards the use of washing machine, it peaked to around 70 percent in 1960 from 40 percent in 1920 which declined slightly in 1980 by around 10 percent and then finally increased to just above 70 percent in 2019.
With regards to working hours in a week, it was around 50 hours in 1920 which decreased rapidly and reached to around 15 hours in 1980 and remained constant till 2000. Finally, the weekly working hours in house reached to around 10 percent in 2019.
