The bar graph compares rates of participation of Australian kids in the year of 2012 broken down by their age and four categories of activities, which are watching TV, reading, doing art and riding the bike.
Overall, watching TV is the most popular entertainment among children of all ages comparing to other three activities which differ according to their age groups.
When looking at the chart it is clear that over 90% of children in Australia have the habit of watching TV. The majority of them also like reading and bike riding, though children from 9 to 11 years old are less active in the latter activity. Among four hobbies, doing art related activity is the least welcoming one but still received a large number of fans.
We can see that the enthusiasm towards arts decreased as kids grow older, with 60%, the largest rate of children from 5 to 8 years old however dipped by 10% in those from 12-16 years old. Furthermore, it is noticeable that kids from 9 to 11 years old have less participation in riding bicycles, approximately at 62% compared to that of other two groups, both of which are over 70%.
