Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that China was highest producer and consumer of electricity in 2014 compared to other countries. In contrast, Korea produced and consumed the least amount of electricity in 2014.
To begin with, China produced and consumed maximum electricity, at 5398 billion and 5322 billion kWh. The next nearest country in terms of both consumption and production was the United States, where residents used 3866 kWh and electricity generated was slightly more at 4099 kWh.
Russia lead the rest of the nations with 1057 billion kWh production and 1038 billion kWh consumption followed by Japan 936.2 kWh and 856.7 kWh. India and Canada ranked 5th and 6th with India producing 871 billion kWh and consuming 698.8 billion kWh while Canada was slightly lower in both with 618.9 and 499.9 kWh. Moreover, France, Brazil, Germany and Korea produced and consumed almost the same amount at around 600 kWh and 500 kWh.
To sum up, China ranked 1st in producing and consuming electricity compared to other countries.
