The bar chart illustrates electricity production and consumption in the top ten largest countries in 2014. The data on electricity is represented in billion kWh.
Overall, it is clear that China and the United States dominated both the generation and usage of electricity, while the Republic of Korea recorded the lowest figures. Notably, Germany was the only nation where demand exceeded supply.
The first feature is that China produced 5,398 billion kWh and consumed a smaller amount, 5,322 billion kWh. Subsequently, the second-largest country, the United States, generated 4,099 billion kWh against a consumption of 3,966 billion kWh. Russia came next with the most identical levels of production and use, at just over 1,050 billion kWh. Japan showed a small surplus, producing 936.2 billion kWh compared with 856.7 billion kWh consumed.
In addition, India, Canada, France, and Brazil accounted for approximately 500 and 900 billion kWh of the recorded figures. However, Germany stood out, consuming more than production, with figures of approximately 582.5 billion kWh and 526.2 billion kWh, respectively. By contrast, Korea registered the smallest totals overall, at 485.1 and 449.5 billion kWh.
