The chart compares the ten countries with the largest generation and utilization of electricity measured in billion kilowatts (kWh) in 2014.
Overall, China and United States had by far the most production and consumption of energy. It is also clear that all the nation listed in the graph produced more power than was used except for Germany.
China clearly topped the chart with 5,398 billion kWh of electricity produced and 5,322 billion kWh of energy being utilized. USA ranked second, generating approximately 4,100 billion kWh and using roughly 3,900 billion kWh of electric energy. Russia was the third in the graph, having produced and utilized approximately 1,000 billion kWh of power.
Japan and India had roughly an average of 900 billion kWh of energy produced, while using an average of about 775 billion kWh. Canada, France, Brazil and Germany generated approximately 550 billion kWh of electric energy and consumed about 500 billion kWh. The least producer and user of electricity was the Republic of Korea, with 485.1 billion kWh and 449.5 billion kWh respectively.
