The chart below shows the top 10 countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.
At first glance, China and The United States distinguish themselves by a great amount of using and generating the amount of electricity from others. China especially had a significant amount of both, which can be the sum of all the other eight countries. That can be expected due to its population, of course. The same idea can be considered for the United States. It comes to second place after China with a little more than 4 thousand billion kWh production and a little bit of consumption.
All states on the chart are able to produce their own electricity except
Germany. However, the difference between the two figures for Germany is not considerable, and the amount is very small.
In conclusion, big electricity consumer countries can obtain their electricity consumption by using their own products.
