The bar chart compares the percentages of people who went to the cinema in a European country on different days of the week in 2003, 2005 and 2007.
Overall, cinema attendance was significantly higher at weekends than on weekdays in all three years. Saturday was consistently the most popular day, while Monday and Thursday tended to have the lowest proportions. Attendance patterns remained broadly similar across the period, although some minor fluctuations can be observed.
On weekdays, the figures were relatively modest. In 2003, around 10% of people went to the cinema on Monday, rising to approximately 20% on Tuesday before falling slightly to about 15% on Wednesday and just over 10% on Thursday. A similar trend is seen in 2005 and 2007, though Wednesday attendance dropped noticeably in 2007 to below 10%, while Thursday increased to around 14%.
By contrast, Friday and the weekend attracted far more people. Attendance on Friday was stable at about 30% in all three years. On Saturday, the proportion peaked at roughly 40% in 2003, climbed to around 45% in 2005, and then declined marginally in 2007. Sunday figures followed a comparable pattern, increasing from about 30% in 2003 to the mid-30s in 2005 before easing slightly in 2007.
