Overall,in both years,the biggest and smallest consumers of Sydney water supply were food and building industries respectively ,while figures for the sectors of manufacturing,household and service underwent some fluctuations.
Focusing on increases,percentages for the industry of service rose up to a fourth from an initial 13%in 1997, while those of household usage grew only by 2%,from 19%in 1997, to 21%in 2007,representing the smallest rise and change in general.
When it comes to decreases,despite maintaining the leading position in both years,water use in the food sector fell from staggering 48%in 1997 to 41% a decade later. Lastly,the change was less pronounced in building and manufacturing industries with 3 and 4 -percentage-fall from their initial figures 5% and 15% in turn.
