Overall, there is a noticeable proportion followed in both of the graphs. With the time, the number of households owning the machines had grown, and the time spent on housework was noticeably declining.
Regarding the figures of invented technologies, they had started rising in owning. The trend was represented in 1920 and has been growing ever since. The number of houses having a refrigerator started at the lowest point, compared to other appliances. However, the percentage of those soared and by a year of 1980 every household remained a fridge, and the number remained the same for 39 years. Regarding the washing machines and the vacuum cleaners, they both had been increasing in owning. Similarly to the refrigerators percentage, the vacuum cleaner figure climbed and reached a peak of 100% in the year of 2000. Considering the washing machine figures, they didn’t share the same popularity among the people, and had been fluctuating between the percentage of 70 in past 59 years (1960-2019).
Moving on to the time spent on a home chores, it had been marginally falling since the electrical machines had been represented. From 50 hours per week in one house for the year of 1920 to reaching the low in the number of less than 11 hours in 2019.
