Meanwhile, the number of hours that vehicles were produced in Toyota and Honda factories were both at 22 hours. From 1998 to 2001, a period of time when employees in General Motor manufactured vehicles, plunged dramatically by 5. In contrast, Ford customers’ demand made the number of hours shot up considerably by 3 and reached a peak at 31 hours. Besides that, the average time of Toyota to produce vehicles fluctuated around 23 hours while the figure of Honda fell rapidly after 1 year and then rose gradually between 1999 and 2001.
After 2001, the amount of time spent on producing vehicles in Toyota and Honda both hit a peak at 24 hours in 2002 and dropped by 4 in 2005. Similarly, the number of hours of vehicle production in General Motor and Ford plummeted at a respective of 21 hours and 22 hours.
