The graph shows the number of people who participated in particular sports (badminton, basketball, tennis, rugby) over a period of time (1985-2005) in the region.
Overall, the number of participants in some sports did not change during the research period, while the number of participants in other sports dramatically increased or decreased.
When we look at the graph, the first thing we notice is two quite similar lines below. These represent badminton and basketball. Surprisingly, throughout the entire research period, the number of participants in badminton was always 50. Meanwhile, the number of people who enjoyed basketball decreased from 75 to around 73 in 1990 and then increased to around 90 in 2000. In 2005, it reached around 77. This sport experienced a lot of changes during this period of time.
The next two lines at the top of the graph represent tennis and rugby. The number of tennis players significantly increased from 150 to 200 during the period 1985-1995. After that, this sport experienced only slight changes. The most interesting line on the graph represents rugby players, because the number of participants decreased from 250 to 50 during the research period. This sport experienced the most significant differences shown in the graph.
To sum up, at the end of the research period, the number of tennis and basketball players increased, while the number of rugby participants decreased, and the number of badminton enthusiasts did not change.
