The pie charts illustrate the breakdown of household expenditures, namely housing, food, transportation, entertainment, healthcare, and other, in the capital cities of the UAE, Turkey, and Russia, in 2023.
Overall, the housing and food segments dominated in most pie charts, whereas the healthcare and other categories accounted for considerably lower proportions. Meanwhile, the transportation and entertainment proportions made up the same percentage or close to it.
According to the data, the housing segment dominated in Dubai and Istanbul, standing at 34% and 43%, respectively, while the food segment accounted for 24% in the capital of the UAE and 26% in the capital of Turkey. In contrast, in Moscow, the food segment was the largest proportion, making up 37%; following it, the housing proportion stood at 29%.
Ultimately, the transportation and entertainment segments were equal in Istanbul, each accounting for 10%, and in Moscow, both made up 13%. Meanwhile, these segments were different in Dubai; the transportation one stood at 15%, and the entertainment one was at 14%. Across the three pie charts, the healthcare category was more popular in Dubai, standing at 13%, whereas it accounted for 6% in Istanbul and 3% in Moscow. Additionally, the other segment was not present in Dubai and made up 5% in both Istanbul and Moscow.
