The plans illustrate the layout of a student common room five years ago and at present.

In general, the common room has undergone several changes, with the most notable ones being the addition of new facilities for students and the reduction in the number of tables. Furthermore, the northern wall remained largely unchanged apart from the addition of another microwave.

Five years ago, there were four round tables with chairs arranged around them in the centre of the room. Along the northern wall were a cupboard, a sink, two benches, a microwave and a refrigerator. In addition, a bookshelf was located in the south-east corner.

At present, one of the round tables has been replaced by a rectangular table with more chairs. One extra microwave has also been installed next to the existing one, while one of the benches has been removed. In addition, a bench for laptops has been added along the southern wall, while the bookshelf in the south-east corner has been removed to make way for a television and three armchairs. Moreover, a drinks machine has been positioned beside the refrigerator
