The given chart depicts the number of males and females who studied in the UK in three periods, whether they were studying full-time or part-time.
Overall, the proportion of women who had part-time educations is more than that of men, with a small difference. However, the full-time education had a roughly similar number for both genders.
Females had a stable increase between 1970 and 1990. Women who studied part-time in 1990-1991, were just nearly 1200 thousand and got more than 200 thousand in full-time education. In 1970, there was the smallest proportion, about 800 thousand fully engaged in lessons, and partly evolved is minor – about one-fourth of 200 thousand.
Males did not have a big difference between the three periods, the most common year, where they had the greatest number of students, is 1970, exactly 1000 thousand. After this year, they have had a little decrease in 1980-81 and 1990-91, 800 thousand and near the 900 thousand, respectively.
