The visuals illustrate the transformation regarding the overall layout of Felixstowe including transportation infrastructure, accommodation system and facilities network from 1967 to 2001.
Overall, this seaside city was modified in complexity, with some new features being added including an open beach which is in favor of tourists and local residents. Also, the whole space was modernized to be more space-effective and commercialized.
As can be seen from the illustration, the shopping area in the eastern side of the high street was converted into an apartment to accommodate the demand for housing of the local people. Moreover, the farmland located in the north-east of the region was demolished to make way for three new constructions which are a swimming pool, prestigious hotel and two large-scale tennis courts to satisfy the need for entertainment of visitors and individuals who enjoy sports.
In the south of the map, a new car park was built next to the hotel to meet the demand for more cars invented overtime. Furthermore, in order to utilize the green energy, a field of wind turbines were added in the south-western side of the area. Previously in 1967 there were marina and pier located in the south of the map occupying the coast; however, in 2001 two main marine buildings were demolished to make way for a public beach; not to mention that the fish market was also replaced by a private beach. Hotel in the south and the coffee just next to it remained unchanged, also the golf course and shopping region on the west of the high street remained intact at the same spot.
