The maps illustrate a town called Felixstone in the years 1997 and 2001. Over the years, multiple develpoments have taken place in that area .
Overall a total of four major changes can be noted. The most significant one would be the transformation of fish markets and marina pier to private and public beaches.
In detail, some infrastructures like natural dunes, shops in high street and golf course were preserved while farmland and fish market was modified. Farmlands were converted to a hotel which included two tennis courts and a swimming pool. Fish market was completely demolished and converted into a private beach. The Pier near the sea was also removed allowing the public to access the beach.
Additionally, wind turbines were built near the dunes in 2001 . The hotel near the sea was renovated to accomodate a car park area. One of the lanes of shops was converted into apartments. The golf course , shops in high street, cafe near the beach and the dunes are the only things that didn’t undergo any change.
