Overall, while participation rates of girls in this age group were higher in drama, singing and especially dancing, boys exhibitted higher figures in playing musicals and sports. Moreover, sports were the most popular activity regardless of the gender of the participants.
In terms of cultural activities, dancing had the highest participation among girls, with around 25% involved, compared to just under 5% of boys. A similar pattern was seen in drama and singing, where the percentage of girls slightly exceeded than boys, with respective figures 5% and 4% in both activities.
Converserly, a greater proportion of boys played musical instruments, with approximately 15% participation, while the figure for girls stood at around 10%. This was the only cultural activity where boys outnumbered girls.
In the sport category, about 70% of boys took part in sports activities, whose proportion is significantly higher than those girls who engaged with this activities, with approximately 52%.
