Overall, the bar chart depicts that the money that paid for food in 1968 was the most significant expenditure, while leisure was become the main expenditure in 2018. Housing, Transport, Leisure spending were not as notable as in 2020

In 1968, families spent their 35% of weekly salaries for food, by the following years, spendings for food decreased to approximately 17%. The following trend is housing and clothing and footwear 10% of weekly income spent in 1968, while housing spendings increased over the years, clothing had the opposite effect about 19% and 5% respectively.

In the middle of the 20th century, the money spent for leisure was not as significant as in 2018, approximately 8% in 1968 and 22% in 2020. In contrast, Transport expenditure rose dramatically from 7 per cent to 14 per cent.
