The given chart shows information on changes in percentage of population in urban areas in 1150, 2007 and 2050. Generally speaking, it can be observed that the data presents the overall pattern of increase in the number of people inhibiting in urban areas.
To begin with, it is clear from the bar chart that in 1950, North America and Oceania were the most prevalent with 60% of the population living in urban areas while others were lower, with the percentage ranging from less than 20% to 40%. Similarly, 2007 witnessed a higher rise in the population in urban areas with North America at the top, followed by Latin American, which saw a striking rise since 1950 from 40% up to nearly 80%. The trend continued until 2050 when North America and Latin America still took first place with Europe in second, all of which have over 80% of the population living in urban areas.
If we look more into the bar chart, it can be observed that there are two trends among the countries. While the percentage of population in urban areas in countries including Europe, North America and Oceania rise steadily, those of others like Africa, Asia and Latin America increase significantly throughout the years.
