Looking at the chart, we can see that in 1950, North America and Oceania had the highest percentage of people living in urban areas (60%). Followed right after is Europe (55%). Africa, Asia and Latin America had the least percentage of people living in cities (<40%)
In 2007, Europe and Latin America both had a spectacular growth in the percentage of urban population (20-25% growth). Whereas North America and Oceania still kept up the consistent growth. In contrast, Africa and Asia only had a small increase.
Moving on to 2050, now it is more balanced between different parts of the world with Asia and Africa taking up an incredible growth, similar to what Europe and Latin America achieved. Latin America and North America are still in the lead, followed right after by Europe, Oceania. Asia and Africa.
