The bar chart compares the share of 65 and above aged individuals in three different nations from 1980 to 2030. In general, there will be an unward trend in the percentage of 65 aged people will rise in all three countries, with Canada experiencing the biggest change. Moreover, the figure for Germany consistently exhibited and will exhibit higher proportions compared to the remaining ones.
Focusing on the European countries, in 1980, 15% of the population consisted of 65 aged people in Germany, slightly higher than that of the UK at about 13%. After which, the figures rose constantly, reaching 20% and around 15% in 2000, respectively. Similarly, the percentage of people who are over 65 is expected to rise in both nations to 25% and around 18% in 2030, respectively.
With regard to Canada, it shows higher changes. In 1980, it accounted for 10%, a figure that then increased by five percentage points in 2000. The share of 65 aged individuals in Canada is also predicted to grow to just over 20% in 2030.
