Overall, it can be seen that the number of women in music courses increased drastically over the period. Regarding career outcomes after graduation, the proportion of students choosing a different career than what they studied is much more than students choosing similar or the same profession.
The share of females enrolled in music classes in the year 2000 was equal to the rate of men, at 20%. However, the percentage of women in music classes increased significantly over the period, with it having nearly a 10% lead in 2001. Following this, the figure for females in music reached double the male’s number in 2002, at 30% compared to 15%. Between 2003 and 2006, the enrollment rate for women in music grew by 5% annually. In 2006, the number of men increased for the first time, to 20%.
By far the most popular career field after graduating university, conversely, is a different profession than what was studied, at 55%. Same and similar professions, on the other hand, took up much less, at 20% and 25% respectively.
