Overall, it is clear that in 2010, every city had an progress in a decade, in 2010 every city’s tourism level was lower than 2020’s. However Bangkok experienced the most growth in visitors number. Also, Tokyo remained the least popular destination with smallest numbers.
In 2010, Paris had the biggest number of visitors- 10 million, after a decade, it experienced a small growth to 19.2 million tourists. In contrast, Bangkok had 11.5 million of tourists in 2010, however, in 2020, it experienced a huge growth to about 22.8 million people visiting Bangkok.
In 2010, Dubai, Istanbul and Tokyo had lower numbers than the previous two cities. However, city which experienced a big growth rate was Dubai, rising from 8.4 million to approximately 16.7 million tourists in 2020. Istanbul grew from 7.2 to 13.4 million in a decade. Tokyo, which was least popular destination, remained at its position, but experienced small growth from 6 million to 8.5 million visitors.
