The percentage of females and males in various age groups who did physical activity regularly in Australia in 2010 is illustrated on the bar chart. Overall, the women’s category had higher participation rates than men’s in all age groups except for the 15 to 24 group. While the highest percentage for females was in 45-54 age group, this figure for males peaked in 15 to 24 age category.
To start with, while in the 15 to 24 age category 52.8% males exercised on the regular basis, the proportion for females in this group was 47.7%. Women aged between 25 and 34 had 48.9% active people, although men had only 42.2%. Furthermore, the least sport-specialised men were in the 35-44 age group (39.5%), whereas this fraction for women were 52.5%.
The propotion for females doing physical activity in the 45 to 54 age category recorded the highest rate of 53.3%, while 43.1% males exercised regularly in this group. For the 55 to 64 congregation, 45.1% of males and 53% of females did some sports activities. Moreover, the gap between two genders reduced in 65 and over age group, with the percentage for men being 46.7% and for women being 47.1%.
