The chart below illustrates the proportion of individuals from the UK who consumed five pieces of vegetables and fruits per day between 2001 to 2008.
Overall, it is shown in the graph that women tends to eat more portion of fruits and vegetables from 2001 to 2008. Whereas, children has the lowest percentage out of the three categories for the past eight years.
In 2001, women accounted for 21% of the segment and rose gradually by 39% in 2007 before slightly decreasing to 30% by 2008. On the other hand, men began with 18% portion per day and remained constant for the next two years. It then started to steadily increased to 28% in 2007 but end with a slight decrease of 26%.
In addition, the children category shows an unchanged fraction of slightly more than one in ten and experienced a growth every year until in 2007 with 25%.However, the same with the rest of the classifications, it has also ended with a drop of slightly more than a quarter in 2008.
