The bar chart illustrates the amount of salt consumed by people in various ages in a Europian state in the year 2019.
Overall, men consistently dominated the consumption amount. On the other hand women tended to stick to the daily recommended intake more than men. However, the figures showed considerable fluctuations throughout the age groups.
The amount of salt young people took per day was significantly the lowest, both for men and women. The proportions gradually rose until it peaked at more than 5000 Milligrams for men and nearly 3800 Milligrams for women in the age group of 30-39 years.
Conversely, these numbers plummeted for women obviously, as women older than 70 consumed exactly the recommended daily amount of nearly 2200 milligrams. Whereas for men, their salt intake declined modestly to around 3800 milligrams for people aged 70 and higher, which is noticeably more than 1500 milligrams of the recommended amount, and merely the same amount women took in 30-39 years.
