The total number of minutes of Mobiles telephone calls had experienced a dramatic rise during the period, from 2 billion minutes in 2001 to 46 billion minutes in 2008. In 2001, the total amount of time of National and International telephone calls started with the second lowest point, at 38 billion minutes, then climbed up to 61 billion minutes at the end of the period. The Local telephone calls total time spent was the highest in 2001, at 72 billion minutes, and reached its peak in 2005, then decreased slowly to 72 billion minutes – the same number as the start of the period.
