The chart compares the proportion of university students studying in a specific subject in the UK, based on their gender and nationality, in the years of 2010 and 2012.

It is clear that the percentage of British female students was significantly higher compared to British males. On the other hand, the portion of overseas students who were men, was higher than female international students.

In 2010, the percentage of British male students who were studying Computer Science was nearly 40%, and this figure dramatically dropped to almost 25% in 2011,before it was peaked at around 43%, in the year of 2012. However, the portion of foreign male students increased significantly from 20% in 2010 to about 40% in 2012, showing a massive increase of nearly 20% over the 2-year period.

In terms of female students, the proportion who were the citizens of the UK, witnessed dramatic rise from just over 20% to almost 45% between 2010 and 2011, but there was a slight growth of 1% in the following year. While there was a continuous rise in the percentage of overseas students, it increased by only 6%, from 14% to 20%, in the years of 2010 and 2012.
