The chart gives information about the proportion of young people in higher education among different countries – A,B,C and D – in 2000, 2005 and 2010.
Overall, while individuals of countries A, C and D who enrolled in higher education showed an upward trend throughout the period, country B almost remained stable. Additionally, the most noticeable and gradual change was observed in counties A and D.
Focusing on country A, there was a steady increase over the period. Starting at about 36%, the share of university students witnessed a noticeable growth to just over 45% from 2000 to 2005. In the final year, it was followed by further increase to around 58%. Turning to the proportion of youths in higher education in country B, the figure recovered slightly from 40 % to 40% over the course of 10 years
Regarding the country C, the percentage of young adults in university grew up negligibly from 50% to 52%, before it remained stable between 2000 and 2010. The proportion of young people in higher education in country D markedly rose from 60% to about 65%, after which it experienced a further considerable improvement to 80% throughout the period.
