The bar chart provides information about the amount of money spent on fast food in Korean won by three income groups, and the line graph illustrates the percentage of fast food consumption in Seoul, Korea between 2000 and 2015.
In general, the bar chart shows significant differences in fast-food expenditure among the different income groups, while the line graph shows a notable decline in the consumption of fries and a rise in the preference for pizza and burger.
Looking first at the bar chart, both the high- and average-income groups spend more money on burger and pizza than the low income. For example, the high- income people spend about 4500 won on burger, compared to only just over 500 by the low income. Another point is that the high- and average-income groups spend less money on fries than the low income. For instance, just under 1500 won is spent by the high income, whereas the low income expends nearly 2000 won, which is their highest expenditure. However, a slight difference can be noticed in the spending of the low income between pizza and burger. More specifically, this is around 300 won.
Turning to the graph, both burger and pizza consumption rose steeply, reaching a peak of roughly 95 % in 2015. In contrast, there was an abrupt fall in the percentage of fries consumption, plummeting to a low of only 10 %.
