The given bar graph vividly illustrates the percentage of female and male individuals who were arrested in the eight different crimes (violence against the person, robbery, burglary, theft and handling stolen goods, fraud and forgery, criminal damage, drug offences, and other offences)
Overall, females made up the larger proportion of the offences than males in these three categories: violence against the person, theft, farud and forgery. On the contrary, for others the percentage of males were more than females.
The highest percentage of those who were arrested was related to violence against the person for both males and females with 31% and 34%, respectively. Additionally, the second highest proportion of the offences was Theft and handling stolen goods with nearly 20% for males and around 31% for females. In addition, other offences made up the third highest proportion with 15% for male and 14% for females. Notably, the percentage of females who were arrested far more than males in the violence against the person and theft categories.
It is noticebale that robbery and fraude made up the leaset percenatge of offences, nearly 3%. Additionaly, the proporion of people who were arrested due to criminal damage and drug offence had nearly similar pattern, for both the number of male offenders were higher than females, about criminal damage, 10% for males and 8% for females and for drug offences, 8% for males and 6% for females.
