The bar graph illustrates data about how many of three different devices were sold online between January and April in 2019 (sales in million units). Overall, in the initial period, in January, there was a significant dominance of laptop sales over the other two types of devices, and it held its dominance over the period.
Intriguingly, there was a considerable increase in the quantity of smartphones and tablets in terms of purchases in March.
In January, the figure for laptops was the most preferred gadget among the two, and it rapidly declined over the next two periods, from under 50 million sales in January to around a quarter of a million in March, and it almost doubled last month in April.
There was a successful doubling of tablet commerce from almost a third to about two-thirds between January and March, and it held the second position. In contrast, the number of tablet retail sales experienced a sharp dip from around 65 million to about 28 million over the last month.
The quantity of smartphone appliance trades saw a dramatic rise from less than a fifth of a million to around three-quarters and also became the highest between the first month and before the last month. That of smartphone sales declined rapidly from three-quarters in March to around 45 million.
