The bar chart illustrates the proportion of school pupils learning to play 4 different musical instruments over a decade. Overall, the rate of learning to play piano and guitar were the highest point at the end of the span. Albeit at a much slower rate in the initial year. The percentage of learning to play drums stood at the lowest point over a span.
Starting with increasing trends, in 2005, Piano learners stood out just above 10%. A figure that then considerably rose to 20% in 2010. Followed by a further increase of around 18% in 2015. The rate of guitar learners stood at 10% in 2015, much considerably higher than that of those falling drum learners (5%).Guitar learners experiencing a noticeably increase to 20% and the latter one levelled off with the same initial year’s number(5%). The guitar learners were substantial over a span, a further increase of 2% was observed in drum learners.
In contrast, Violin learners who made up 9% in 2005, saw a pronounced drop to roughly 7% in 2010. Followed by a further decline of about 3% in 2015.
