By contrast, the share of boys in the study who were in favor of doing sports and going to the park in their spare time had the highest figures while the reverse was true in the case of their female counterparts. Also of note is that the proportion of playing computer games in both genders has a similar level.
To elaborate, the share percentage of boys playing sports and going to the park emerged as the leader of the chart, at 27% and 25%, doubling the figure for girls by a disparity of nearly 15% and 13% respectively. An opposite case was apparent in the proportion of each gender in art and craft; while 25% of girls were in favor of this pastime activity, only just over 5% of boys did the same. Besides, the share of children who favored playing computer games in their spare time in both genders was similar, at 30% in total.
Regarding categories with lower data, the share of girls engaging in reading books in their leisure time was 18%, higher than the figure for boys by a gap of 8%.
